Our village website has been created by the Parish Council and we hope you will find the site provides you with all the information you need to know about our beautiful village. We also hope, you will find it interesting and enjoyable reading too.
The village of Little Houghton lies approximately two miles south of the old market town of Northampton just off the A428.
Our picturesque village is situated on high ground surrounded by open countryside and has a commanding position overlooking the valley of the River Nene. The Conservation Area covers virtually the whole village and the older buildings are predominantly built in sandstone or ironstone, some with thatched roofs. Mingled amongst them are houses built over the eras from the Victorian days to the newer more modern style homes of today. Standing in the centre of the village is our ancient Parish Church of St. Mary The Virgin which is a Grade 11 Listed Building and dates back to Norman times.
The village is home to approximately 382 people and has a strong community spirit and is a very warm and friendly place to live.
The Parish Council are very grateful to County Councillor Michael Clarke for providing us with a grant for the funding of our village web site from Northamptonshire County Council's Empowering Councillors & Communities Scheme.
